This course is intended for specialist teachers/ assessors already conducting diagnostic assessments wishing to gain confidence in best practice report writing. Its focus on generic report writing skills makes it suitable for professionals working across all age ranges, including those who must ensure that reports are acceptable to support Disabled Student's Allowance applications. It reviews current SASC [1] Guidelines for best practice, psychometric principles underpinning statistical analysis and compilation of quantitative information, alongside qualitative analysis and observations. It explores ways to streamline the writing process by adopting a structured approach and considers how to: most effectively present data in an accessible format; communicate technical information; keep the needs of the ‘learner' at the heart of the process. It addresses how to avoid common pitfalls when submitting a report for professional review.

This course is suitable for professionals working across all age ranges, including those who must ensure that reports are acceptable to support Disabled Students' Allowance applications.
