Description
This comprehensive training will help you reflect on how to apply this test. This is the first test that has been designed to identify a comprehensive range of features that are recognised in a dyslexic profile. It combines the best of both American and UK training practices.
Once this introduction is completed, you will be provided with a link to buy the TOD™ training video on a special WPS/Patoss website page.
In Step 2 of this training programme, you’ll observe test administration as portions of the TOD-Screener, TOD-Early and TOD-Comprehensive are given to four students across the age ranges. Assessment author Dr. Nancy Mather will guide you through all four case study examples, providing relevant clinical and educational background information, illustrating how to analyse scores, and explaining the interpretive report. The course features embedded reflection questions to highlight key ideas.
You’ll practice scoring individual test items selected from the TOD-Early and TOD-Comprehensive assessments, using video case study examples and a downloadable protocol. The course is designed to allow you as much practice as you need, and you can compare your scores to the examiner’s results for further learning. You’ll leave the programme with a solid grasp of test administration and the scoring process.
At the end of the Step 2 training, you will be able to download a certificate of completion and you then send a copy of this to Patoss (training@patoss-dyslexa.org). Patoss will then provide you with a link to access the Step 3 webinar to enable you complete your training journey.
Please note that WPS also offer three optional training videos on the WPS/Patoss website page, at additional costs. You are not required to buy and watch these in order to obtain your SASC accreditation.
In this training you will learn how to apply what you have learnt from the above step to writing a diagnostic report. This will enable you to present evidence from the TOD™ in an accessible, clear and robust way in your report writing. Also, the training will explain how you can use the TOD™ for an access arrangement to comply with JCQ requirements.
Once all steps are completed, Patoss will issue you with your SASC accreditation certificate which confirms you have completed 5 hours of core training for your CPD requirements.
SASC require all assessors reflect on their practice to complete their CPD logs for renewing their APCs - this part of the process is designed to help an assessor prepare their CPD logs for the renewal process.
- To reflect on using the TOD™training for SASC CPD requirements
- To reflect on the use of the test for your assessment work in the UK.
- To watch the administration of the test and practice scoring the test before you use the test on a person. This is designed to reduce any errors you may make when applying the test in your work.
- To learn how to apply the information from the results of the TOD™to both your diagnostic report writing and for Access Arrangements.
- To reflect on using what you have learnt for your CPD logs and to contribute to your APC renewal.
