SASC Appoints New Assessment Issues Coordinator
Following Caroline Holden stepping down from the SASC Board, we are delighted to announce that we have appointed Alice Thomas as our new Assessment Issues Coordinator.
Alice began her teaching career in 2008, focusing on teaching adults, young people, and children with additional learning needs. After completing training as a specialist teacher assessor at University College London, she moved from teaching to a role in a multi-academy trust in East London. In this role, she works across the trust as a specialist teacher assessor, supporting teachers, SENCOs, parents and pupils. As well as this role, Alice also supports specialist teacher assessors in training, through marking on the UCL SpLD course.
Alice says, "My goal has always been to ensure that children with special educational needs receive tailored support to make the best possible progress. I am excited to bring my perspective to my new role as Assessment Issues Coordinator for SASC, where I look forward to the opportunity to support assessors in maintaining high standards in specialist SpLD assessments."
