   Course Summary
This course is designed for professionals who would like to update their knowledge of current tests and refine their ability to plan, carry out and write up diagnostic assessments. The course will provide opportunities for discussion, questions and will also include a range of hands-on activities. This course is suitable for the core 5 hours of Continued Professional Development, which will be required when renewing PATOSS Assessment Practising Certificates. Two days 9.30-3.00pm

Planning and Writing Diagnostic Assessments for Ages 7 to 16

This course is designed for professionals who would like to update their knowledge of current tests and refine their ability to plan, carry out and write up diagnostic assessments.

The course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge in the following areas:

  • Understanding psychometric testing.
  • Planning an assessment including choosing a range of tests to suit different learner profiles.
  • Report writing.
  • Providing advice on recommendations in the report 
  • Experience of a range of tests including WRAML-2, WIAT-II-T, WRAT 4, DASH, CTOPP-2, PhAB2, TAPS-3, TOWRE-2, WRIT HAST 2.

Led by two experienced assessors and tutors from the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, the course will include lectures, practical activities, discussion and opportunities for questions.  There will be a maximum of 16 participants.  It is delivered over 2 days at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, Farnham, Surrey.
