   Course Summary
This course in intended for specialist teachers who already conduct full diagnostic assessments but who would like to be more confident in assessing for DSA. It outlines selection of tests for DSA, and updated SASC guidance on report format. The course explores good practice in report writing and what reviewers are looking for when they review an APC. The course also updates delegates on new SASC guidance on visual difficulties, Developmental Coordination Disorder and new tests.
   Course Detail
The course outlines:
  • what DSA is and proof of eligibility, what it can pay for and how DSA are paid.
  • in depth the tests which must be undertaken and that reports must be written to SASC guidelines
  • good practice in report writing for each section of a full diagnostic report and covers good practice in tmers of confidentiality, GDPR. Delegates look at an example summary/recommendations section and discuss what it wrong.
  • new SASC guidance on pre-16 assessments being accepted as part of a DSA application, visual difficulties, DCD/dyspraxia, and tests which are no longer suitable for a DSA/SASC assessment and new approved tests.
  • the process of renewing your APC, what is required and what an effective assessment report demonstrates, how an APC is evaluated, the requirements of hte CPD log and what counts as CPD

   Learning Outcomes

Delegates will be confident in what is required for them to renew their APC and what an effective diagnostic report looks like.
