   Course Summary
The AAC builds on assessment skills and knowledge gained in the CCET qualification. In particular the course covers the Equality Act, the latest JCQ regulations and procedures and the assessment methodologies required to assess students for access arrangements.

This course builds on the assessment skills and knowledge of psychometrics and statistics gained in the Certificate of Competence in Eduational Testing (CCET) qualification and fully trains delegates to become access arrangements assessors. The course covers the following curriculum:
  • the essential principles of access and equality legislation
  • the key principles and legislation that underpin examination access arrangements
  • access to some of the most useful international and domestic information sources
  • the key principles, legislation and practices in a variety of contexts
Participants will be able to: 
  • assess a client in own access arrangements setting
  • gain knowledge of current and appropriate standardised tests
  • grasp and be able to summarise the key assessment principles
  • engage with a broad range of illustrative case studies

  • Delegates must hold or be about to complete the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) and be eligible for registration as a Test User Educational on the BPS Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU).

  • Describe the essence and implications of the relevant legislation.
  • Write suitable and appropriate assessment reports for submission to examination boards where they are required.
