Overview and comparison of cognitive abilities tests available to specialist assessors - Moving on from the WRIT

Rachel Simpson, outgoing Chair SASC’s SpLD Test Evaluation Committee (STEC)

Rachel will give an overview of the large batteries of intelligence/cognitive processing tests that have been added to the SpLD Test Evaluation Committee Pre-16/Post 16 List of Suitable Tests for the Assessment of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) in recent years. This overview will be set within the context of developments in IQ testing. The purpose will be to provide assessors with information which may assist in updating their assessment toolkit.

Issues in defining dyscalculia

Janet Goring (Chair of SASC’s dyscalculia and maths difficulties working party) will present an update from the working party, focusing in particular on issues concerning the definition of dyscalculia.

The conference events are free of charge to all SASC members. 

Note the sessions will all be recorded and made available to those unable to attend at the original broadcast time.
