Description
The IDS-2 is used worldwide and was recently adapted and translated into English, with the collection of UK norms for 5–20 year olds. Standardised Executive Function tests are an important component of neurodevelopmental assessment. The Executive Functions Domain of the IDS-2 has four subtests: Listing words, Divided attention, Animal colours and Drawing routes. These are designed to measure different aspects of Executive Function working together, but have a primary focus on mental flexibility, working memory, inhibition and planning respectively.
Learning outcomes
In this presentation, we will describe the four Executive Function sub-tests and how they are scored. We will also present a case study to illustrate the interpretation of test results and their use in planning a programme of support.
